Still Attempting to

In 48 BC Ceasar’s troops set ablaze the Library of Alexandria, destroying some 40 000 scrolls of text and watched as knowledge past down generations burned in the wind.

Still Attempting to speculates on digital media storage and how historical records have become in large part dependent on the availability of electricity. Tying together analogue and digital mediums, the series of works combines 3D-rendered imagery, a short two-channel video, embroidered canvas and a sound piece, presenting various modes of historical writing.

The work was installed inside an old water filtration plant at the Museum of Technology, Helsinki, Finland in August 2021.
